My boyfriend Chris and I were taking our dog to the beach for a swim, like we usually do. I was wondering why my boyfriend was bringing his snorkel, but I didn't put it together. When we got to the beach, I started throwing the ball for our dog, Bailey. I did this a few times and noticed that Chris was snorkeling around in the pond but not paying any attention to Bailey. We don't normally snorkel in the pond. Again, I didn't put it together. He then started asking me to walk out into the pond to see what he had found. I protested because I was wearing long pants and did not want to get them wet. We went back and forth for a while about some silly shell that he wanted to show me when he finally agreed to bring the "shell " to me to see. He then pulled the "shell " out of the water, and it was actually a ring. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so shocked that by the time some onlooker had walked over to ask if congratulations were in order, Chris replied with, "I don't know yet. " I then said yes!
