Robbie and I decided to exchange Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve at 6:45 am, before I went to work. I opened Robbie's gift first. It was a beautiful pearl necklace that matches a pearl ring that he gave me last year. Then, Robbie opened his gifts - some clothes and a watch.
I thought that the gift giving was over. However, Zoe, our black cat, jumped onto our bed. Robbie said that she had a present for me. I looked closer at Zoe and saw a ring around her collar! Robbie took the ring off the collar and proposed!
Anyone who knows Robbie and me knows how special this was; our three cats are like our children. Come to find out, Robbie practiced on a different cat, Otie, but broke the collar in the process. Zoe was the backup. She did a great job, and she had actually been walking around the house for about fifteen minutes with the ring around her neck before the proposal happened.
