Wade and I had been together just about three years when we decided to go look at rings! It was so exciting to take that next step in our relationship. We looked and looked, and on Christmas Eve, he took me to the jeweler to look at the settings again. He put the one I loved on hold! However, he was still in search of the perfect stone. We took a trip to visit our best friends in Las Vegas for New Year's Eve, and I secretly hoped he would do it there but knew he didn't have the time to pull it off so quickly. New Year's Eve arrived, and Wade came home late from work to catch our flight. Of course, being a typical female, I started stressing out about missing our flight and ruining our New Year's plans.

Luckily, he got home in the nick of time, and we got to the airport in time to enjoy a cocktail or two. He seemed tense and stressed out, so I assumed it was because of all of the rushing. We made it to Vegas and headed to our hotel on The Strip with our friends. We had a great time at dinner and had midnight drinks. When midnight arrived, we headed outside to watch the firework show and the light show at The Bellagio. As I turned around to plant a midnight kiss on him, he pulled the ring out of his pocket and got down on one knee! Everyone in the crowd started cheering and clapping; it was so surprising! He had the ring in his pocket the whole time and was late getting home because he knew it would be such a surprise. Of course I said yes!
