Chris and I had been together for quite a while before we became engaged. We had recently welcomed our second child into the world this past January. We always knew we wanted to be married one day, but we have a tendency to do things backwards. I was so thrilled that Chris still took the time to make the proposal memorable and special. I almost ruined his plans by making him take our two-year old to the doctor. He called me from the doctor appointment and told me he wanted sushi for dinner at our favorite local restaurant. I asked him to pick me up, but he just said to meet there.
So, I drove down there in the rain and walked in, but I didn't see him. The hostess then said, "Please come this way, " so I followed. He had rented out the whole back portion of the restaurant and had music playing with the room tinted in a romantic ambience. Both he and our two-year old son were wearing tuxedos. I was all frumpy from taking care of two sick children all day. My heart stopped, and I almost wanted to back out of the room! He then got on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the sweetest moment of my life.
