Chris and I met in Cancun, Mexico, and it was amazing. I had been on vacation with some friends and Chris, who had been working in Belize for a few months, was then on holiday with his workmates. After we met, all the people around us seemed to disappear like it was just me and him. We spent four days together, and it was just enough to fall in love. Then we had to take our separate ways home, but he promised me that he would go to Mexico to stay with me. We kept in touch and the love just grew every day against all bets. During September, he went to Mexico to ask me to marry him. He planned everything from the UK, including renting a limo and booking one of the best restaurants for dinner. He was planning to ask me that night, but because he doesn't speak a word of Spanish, the plans had gotten messed up so he couldn't ask that day. The next day, when he was on his knee helping me with my shoes, he proposed! It was a strange and spontaneous way to ask, but it shows that love just flows and doesn't need to be planned. Now we are engaged and very happy!
