As an Instructional Technology teacher in a middle school, I assist my students with creating weekly video newscasts of school and community events. My then-boyfriend decided to take my passion for technology and use it in his proposal. Without my knowledge, he contacted my principal, co-workers and students in order to arrange to have the students film his proposal. One day, the principal came running to my office to say that there was a video going around the school that she didn't think was appropriate for students to view. She told me that she wanted me to watch it and give her my opinion. I slid the DVD in, and there on the screen was my fiancé dressed in a suit, telling me how much he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Once I realized what was going on, I started screaming. He then walked in along with my mother, aunt and sisters. As it turns out, everyone in the school had known what was coming and had been helping to get me in the right places at the right times. The best part of the proposal was not only knowing how much my fiancé loved me but also knowing that I was surrounded by friends that cared enough to have helped make it the most memorable day of my life. I am truly blessed.
