I was on vacation in Portugal with my family when my boyfriend sent me an email saying he had arranged an amazing race for me once I got into Rome. Within hours of arriving, I ate gelato and attempted to find my clues. Lo and behold, I was not clever enough to follow directions, so I wandered aimlessly down the street. I turned around and there was Jordan, my boyfriend. Knowing I was lost, he directed me to the remaining clues. Surprised and excited, I finished the race, even though he was supposed to be at the end. We continued our week in Italy, traveling wonderfully together. One day in Vernazza, we were talking and joking about our future. Jordan became silent and started pacing along the pier, while I enjoyed the scenery as lightning cracked in the background. After about ten minutes of silence, I turned around to see Jordan on his knee. Despite not having a ring (it had never been his intention to propose on our trip), I said yes!
