Ellen G.

This year I thought that I was going to have to spend Valentine's Day without my boyfriend (for the second year in a row). He told me that he was going to be in the mountains with his family, but little did I know that he had different plans.

He had flowers delivered on Friday the 13th to throw me off and a note saying how he really wished he could be with me. So he got a 6:30am flight the morning of Feb 14th and he arrived in Florida at 10:30am on Valentine's Day. He had my Dad picked him up while doing his "errands." He and my Dad then went to our family's favorite ocean resort and my dad called our family and told us to come see the renovations.

When I walked into the lobby, the ladies at the front desk where in on his plan and they handed me a teddy bear with a note telling me to go down to the beach for a Valentine's Day surprise. Meanwhile, my boyfriend went down to the beach and set up a CD player on a towel and drew a heart in the sand with our initials. I walked down to the pool by the beach, and then when I saw him down by the ocean I ran on down to him. For a while all we could do was hold each other and cry (after being apart for 2 months).

After our tearful embrace he played on the CD player our song "Better Together" got down on one knee, held my hand and asked if I would marry him! I responded with an emphatic and tearful YES! He then reached into his bag and got out the ring in a little box. We opened it together and then he slipped it on my finger. Then of course there was more hugging as our song finished playing and then we headed back up to the resort and went out to a beautiful restaurant on the water to celebrate.
