My fiancé and I have been engaged "verbally" for two years, however we did not want to set a date until it became official with the ring. On Valentine's Day 2009 he drove me into the city. We were stuck in traffic on the Manhattan Bridge and he gave me my Valentine's Day gift - a beautiful watch. I was so happy with this present, but little did I know that it was a decoy.
When we finally got into the city, we went straight for a carriage ride through Central park. It was the first time for both of us and was romantic. It melted my heart. I was so satisfied with how I was spending my Valentine's Day that I couldn't be happier! Half way through the park, he tells me how much he loves me and asked me what I have been waiting for these last couple of years. I did not expect this at all; therefore I didn't know what to say. While I stared into his eyes, without a word to say, he popped out a beautiful ring and asked me in Spanish if I would be his wife. I was so ecstatic I couldn't breathe. This by far was the happiest day of my life. Of course I yelled, "YES!"
