Tabbatha M.

My fiancé and I were busy all Christmas day, shopping and running around from store to store. That night, we went to look at Christmas lights and then went to dinner. When we got home, I was going to wrap some presents, but as I was getting all of the stuff ready, my fiancé asked if I wanted to open a present early. He handed me a sack with an envelope that said it was a scavenger hunt and that my next clue was in the bathroom in his overnight carrying case. When I opened the case up, there was another envelope saying to wait in the bathroom and that he would call me when my present was prepared. I had no idea what was going on and was actually a little nervous.

When he told me to come out, all the lights were dim, and he was down on one knee in the middle of the room with a ring box opened. He asked me if I would spend the rest of my life with him, and we both started to cry. Of course I said yes!

I called my parents to tell them the news, but they had already known that he was going to propose. He had asked them earlier in the day while I was away, and they were waiting to hear from us because they didn't know when he was going to ask. He had kept it a secret from everyone else so it was fun to call people and let them know. He had hid some champagne in a water cooler refrigerator, and we just sat on the couch, cuddled together drinking our champagne for the rest of the night.
