My boyfriend convinced me to go to China with him on a study abroad program. I was a bit hesitant, but I finally agreed. Unbeknownst to me, he had told the entire group at a meeting I couldn't make that he planned on proposing to me while on the trip. When we went through security, they even pulled out the ring from his backpack, but his friends distracted me so I didn't see it.
On the second day of our trip, we climbed up the Great Wall of China. He handed off his video camera and his still camera, which I thought was strange. He then pulled me over to one side and distracted me by pointing at something over the wall. The next thing I knew, he was on one knee with a ring box in his hand, proposing. The group had formed a circle around us to separate us from the many other tourists. When I said yes, a dozen red roses popped out of nowhere and so did a cake with "Congratulations! " written on it. The group also videotaped and took pictures. My boyfriend had taken a big risk, hoping that I would say yes!
