My now-fiancé Zach had planned to take me on a hike for my birthday to the place where we had gone on our first date, Tenant Mountain. It was a beautiful day, and the views were amazing! He had packed a picnic lunch with a blanket so we could eat on top of the mountain. When we got there, we were enjoying the amazing views, and he told me that he had brought one of my birthday presents along for me to open. I was surprised and wondered why he would give me a present on our hike. He told me to close my eyes, and when I opened them, he had a little red velvet box in his hand and was down on his knee at my feet. He opened the box and told me he couldn't imagine not spending every day and every hike with me and asked if I would marry him. Of course I said yes. Another thing he remembered was that I had told him that I like antique settings and that blue is my favorite color because it is the color of his eyes as well as of my birthstone, so I have this beautiful ring to always remind me of this special day.
