Eddie and I knew that we were going to be married in 2009, but as of December, he had not "popped the question." I knew he wanted it to be special, and it sure was! I guess I was expecting the typical Christmas or Christmas Eve proposal, but did not get it. The time came earlier - December 21st.
We are very active in our church as youth leaders. That morning, Eddie was not going to make it to church because his sister had to move and he was going to help her. I trekked it to church through the ice and snow storm in my pink boots on the train. At the end of the service, my good friend went to sing, which I thought was strange because she never sings in public. As she sang, a handmade cross started lowering itself from the ceiling. On the cross was a small box. At this point I knew I was being proposed to and I started crying my eyes out. Of course is said, "Yes!"
