Bruce mentioned that he wanted to go out to dinner, which didn't seem out of the norm since we eat out a lot. I wasn't sure where he is taking us, but he asked me, "How much do you like cheesecake?" He knows I love cheesecake, so we went to the Cheesecake Factory.
Afterwards, he asked, "Want to go see the ducks at the duck pond?" I love the duck pond, and he knows that! As we walked down the embankment, all the ducks that were in the middle of the pond were swimming towards the shore to see us. I was so cute watching them waddle our way. Then they began trotting towards us squawking really loud; that wasn't so adorable! I started to get nervous, but Bruce swore that they would not hurt us and they just wanted food. He told me that he had a bag of chips in his truck that we could feed them.
He got back to me, and said that he didn't have the chips, but he did have a present for me. He handed me a mini scrapbook. I was a little surprised by this, and I open it up. I started to flip through, and there are all these beautiful pages with pictures of us with beautiful phrases. As I flipped to the last page, it said, "Carolyn, Will You Marry Me?" He then got down on one knee and held out the ring. I screamed, "Yes!" Everything about the proposal was very thoughtful and I will cherish it always.
