My fiancé proposed to me this past December. I thought we were driving to Tennessee to see his Dad. We ended up at the airport. He told me he had to pick something up that the airline had lost, so I didn't think much of it because he travels a lot for work. When we got to the check-in counter, I realized that he had my bag and his bag, and then I knew something was up. He wouldn't let anyone checking our tickets tell me where we were going. I kept trying to guess but he wouldn't tell me until we got to the gate, when he told me we were going to Paris!
Our first night there, we took a walk in the park. He had a bottle of wine, and we sat and talked. Once it got dark he suggested we walk around. We turned the corner and I saw a huge lit up ferris wheel. I remembered a time three years ago when we were riding a ferris wheel around Christmas, and I told him I thought it would be so romantic to get engaged that way. He never forgot that, and he found a ferris wheel in the most romantic city in the world. At the top, we could see the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumph and Parliament. It was so gorgeous. He got down on his knee, and asked me to be his wife. He also had all of my family and close friends write me letters of congratulations, and he let me read one at each site we went to. It was so sweet and romantic. I still can't believe it happened!!!
