When my boyfriend told me to keep the upcoming weekend free, I knew something was up. On Saturday, we got in the car and drove to a city three hours away. We checked into a hotel there and went to dinner. I was so sure that he was going to propose at dinner, but we had finished our dinner without a proposal. My boyfriend paid for our bill, and we walked to the door. I was fairly disappointed, mostly in myself for being so silly.
When we walked out of the restaurant, there was a horse and carriage waiting for us. As soon as the ride began, he pulled out the ring and asked for my hand in marriage. I was so thrilled! I couldn't stop looking at the ring and didn't want to put my gloves back on. I had to, though, because it was freezing outside! We ended up having to finish the ride early because our faces were frozen in big goofy smiles. My fiancé even apologized for proposing on the coldest day of the year!
