My fiancé and I were together for eight years before he proposed to me in February. On Valentine's Day, he told me that my gift was arriving a little late. I was surprised when he said that because we had just bought a house together, and I didn't think we were exchanging anything other than cards for Valentine's Day. I came home from work and was greeted by my fiancé, who asked if I had seen my present. I turned around, looked down the hallway and saw the most adorable yellow lab puppy I have ever seen. After I fawned over the puppy for a few minutes, my fiancé asked me to look at the tag on the puppy's collar. One tag read "Gretzky" (my husband is a big hockey fan and had always talked about getting a dog named Gretzky) and another read, "Will you marry me?" I was shocked, and of course I said yes!
