My fiancé and I had been together for five years when he finally popped the question. We went to his grandma's house for our annual Christmas dinner. His entire family was gathered around for a prayer when his grandma proceeded to say how grateful she was for the family and how someone had an announcement to make. All the while, I just wanted to eat. Brandon turned to me and pulled out the ring and got two words into his speech when I hit him on the arm and called him a big liar for telling me he would propose after Christmas! Yes, I called him a liar in front of his entire family when he was trying to propose. Then, I start bawling in happiness. He gave me the most beautiful ring I have ever seen, and then I realized why he had sold his car. The engagement was great because it was such a surprise.
