My relationship with Blake started in 2006 as we were finishing our last term at the University of Georgia. We both worked at a local restaurant in Athens (I was the hostess and Blake worked the to-go counter). Despite working in the same restaurant, Blake and I had very little contact. On one of Blake's last days of work, before moving to Atlanta, Blake and I met at a local hang out spot. This spot was a place Blake frequented, but it was my first time. You can call it luck, but it seems more like fate when we hit if off that evening. We have been inseparable ever since!
After two years dating, a near fatal hemorrhage incident leaving Blake without a sense of smell, and the complexities of traveling weekly for work, Blake realized I was the one for him. Amidst these tumultuous times, we had been planning a trip to Europe for eight months. What I didn't know was that Blake was also planning for our engagement.
When arriving in Paris, I noticed that Blake was dressed up a little more than usual. He also seemed a bit nervous, but I just figured it was because we were in Paris. We dined at an adorable cafe on a side street in Paris. While there, Blake had planned for the waiter to bring the ring out on my favorite desert (this never happened because I never went to the restroom for him to ask the waiter). We left the restaurant and headed towards the Eiffel Tower. At this point, Blake was so nervous he was practically shaking. He blamed it on the cold weather (it was twenty degrees in Paris during this time and very windy). After we got off the metro, we started the walk to the Eiffel Tower. Right before we arrived, Blake pulled me to the aside in a little park. He then pulled me around and slowly got down on his knee and proposed. I replied back that I would be honored to be his wife.
