I was at work one Friday, ready to start my weekend. My boyfriend Jon sent me a text message which read, "A limo will be at your house at 6:30 to pick you up. Please dress nicely." He didn't want to talk to me over the phone because he was afraid to ruin the surprise. Jon's a pretty romantic guy, but he definitely doesn't send limos to pick me up on a regular basis. So, I was excited and hoped that this was "the night." When I got home, there was a single rose on my bed with a card from Jon, expressing how much he loved me. The limo picked me up, and I started on my "engagement journey" as I like to call it. I had no idea where I was going as we headed towards downtown Tucson. The limo stopped in front of a house with Jon waiting there. He was holding a single rose and another card. He reminded me that this was the house where we had our first kiss at and had decided to finally start dating. His friend was standing nearby, videotaping the whole thing. He gave me champagne and placed me back in the limo by myself and said he would see me later. The limo then brought me to our favorite restaurant, but he was nowhere in sight. My best friend from California came out of the restaurant to get me, which was also a total surprise because she lives out of town.
When I walked in the restaurant, my sisters and all of my close friends were waiting for me with more champagne and another rose and card. I almost started crying then because I realized how much thought and effort Jon had put into this. By that time, I had a pretty good idea that he was going to propose. After our drinks, all of us girls jumped back in the limo to take us to the next destination. We arrived at a very nice resort in Tucson called Ventana Canyon. Jon's brother and good friend were waiting for me. After helping me out of the limo, they escorted me to a stairwell, which led to Jon. Jon was standing on the balcony, which overlooked all of the city lights of Tucson. He had more roses for me too. After telling me how much he loved me, he dropped to one knee and proposed. Of course I was so happy and overwhelmed with emotion. After saying yes, we all went to a restaurant where our parents and more friends were waiting for us to celebrate. Jon put so much thought and effort into giving me the engagement of my dreams. I couldn't have been more blown away or happy. To top it off, he made sure to ask my father for his permission first. He definitely gave me the best proposal of all: one that I'll never forget, and I'm sure our friends and family won't forget either.
