A month before my boyfriend Taylor proposed, we had bought a house and moved in. Taylor secretly invited our closest friends over to the house and surprised me when they showed up. I had a feeling he was going to propose, but as the night got later and the drinks got lower, there was still no proposal. So, I decided to put on comfy clothes and relax around our fire pit. Taylor then came up to where I was sitting and got down on one knee and took my right hand. I jumped out of my seat and said, "What are you doing?" He then began to propose and pulled out a ring and tried to place it on my right hand. I suddenly pulled my hand away and said that it was the wrong hand. I gave him my left hand, and he put the ring on. He stood up, held me and whispered, "You haven't said yes yet." I said yes, and he kissed me.
When I calmed down, I looked at the ring, and he told me that I was his mother's engagement ring from 1979 and that I would be able to pick out my own ring. The most amazing part was that the ring fit perfectly, and I didn't need to get it resized! He then told me that he had called my father earlier that day to ask for his permission. It turned out that our parents had gone out to dinner that night to celebrate our engagement while he was proposing. Now, our wedding day is approaching very quickly, and I can't wait to become his wife! I am so blessed to have his parents become my in-laws; I love them like my own parents. I feel as though I'm living a fairytale life, and I love every minute of it!
