My boyfriend Jonathan and I went on our first vacation alone on a cruise to the Caribbean. It was the perfect way to relax and spend time together. We landed in Nassau and had a fun and relaxing first day. That night was the first formal night, so we got all dolled up for dinner and went to the captain's cocktail party. Jonathan seemed to be a bit quieter during the party, but of course I didn't put two and two together until the night was over. After a few free beverages, we went to the dining room and had a great meal of filet mignon.

After stuffing ourselves with the five- course meal, Jonathan convinced me to go for a walk around the ship. I was a bit stubborn and told him I didn't want to go because I was too tired and cold. After some begging on his part, I figured that we needed to do some walking after consuming so much at dinner. It was a beautiful night and the air was warm and breezy. Jonathan was marching me all around the ship, as I was getting more tired and resistant. When we got to the bow of the ship, Jonathan asked me to sit down and started to tell me how much he loved me. He had a great speech planned, which I interrupted several times, not knowing that he had rehearsed it for so long. He then said, "I love you " and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes of course! When I finally got over my shock and closed my mouth, I looked down and there was a box with a tiny spotlight on the most beautiful ring. Yes, the box with my ring had a spotlight on it! It was perfect for the evening proposal.
