Most little girls dream of a magical engagement, just like the ones they read about in their favorite fairytales. My engagement was like no other I had ever heard of. It was my dream, come true.

My fiancé, Mark, and I had been dating for about four and a half years. We had tossed the word marriage around a little bit and went to look at engagement rings once. However, we had never made any serious plans and to my knowledge no ring was ever bought. This past year Mark had invited me to go to Disney World with him and his family on their vacation. I had only been there once in my life. As much as I loved being at Disney World, it meant I had to fly again without my family. For this reason, I didn't know if I really wanted to go with him and his family. Finally, I had to make the decision, knowing in my heart that I really wanted to go. So, I said yes.

Finally, on June 16th, the day had arrived. Sitting at the airport, I wished I had said no, because I knew I had to get on that airplane. Ready or not, it was time to go. The flight really wasn't all that bad and before I knew it, we arrived at the Orlando airport and we headed straight to the Magic Kingdom. As I walked through the gates, I thought to myself, I love this place.

We weren't there for more than an hour when Mark told his parents we were going to walk around the park a little bit before our lunch reservation. Before I knew it, we were standing in front of the castle by the wishing well. Mark was getting a little restless waiting for people to take pictures and throw their change into the well. I laughed to myself and suggested we come back later after we rode a few rides. But Mark was set on us making a wish right then. Soon the crowd was gone and it was our turn at the wishing well. Mark made his wish and threw a quarter into the well and then he handed one to me. He told me to close my eyes and make a wish. I really thought nothing of it. I made my wish, threw my quarter in the well, and started to walk away.

However, I didn't get too far because I just about stumbled over Mark, who was at my feet on one knee with a gorgeous diamond ring in his hand. Tears in his eyes, he asked me to make his wish come true. I couldn't believe it, I was in total shock. It took a few moments for everything to register. As the tears kept flowing down my face, I finally managed to say yes! A couple passing by saw the whole thing and told us they had got engaged in the very same spot a few years earlier. The couple congratulated us and took our picture.

We spent the rest of the week enjoying Disney World and most of all enjoying our new engagement. Being engaged to Mark, truly is my fairytale ending."
