Shelly H.

My fiancé, Andy, was worried that he would not be able to surprise me with a proposal. So, when my dad called to invite him to the 2nd round playoff game for the Titans, he thought it would be the perfect opportunity to pop the question!

He left early Saturday morning to "drive to Nashville" for the game. Around 4:00pm, he sent me a text message that read, "Check the front door, Love." When I opened the door, there was a camera, a rose, a letter, and an envelope that said "Clue 1." The letter read, "My love, my love, how I hope you are surprised. The first clue of many to follow would be advised. Please cancel your plans, and choose an evening gown. The limo arrives at six for your night on the town. You would be wise to bring a change of clothes, where you will end, only I know. Please direct your chauffeur to locate each clue, the journey starts now, but begins with I do."

I just happened to have an evening gown from college that somehow managed to still fit in the closet! To sum up the story, he had created five clues, which all rhymed, and took me all over town to meaningful places the two of us frequented. At each destination, there was a friend, family member, our dogs, or future-in-law to give me the next clue! The next to last stop was a coffee shop where my mom, aunt, and cousin were waiting. They live out of town, but had come to Chattanooga for the special occasion! They gave me the last clue which read, "You must be tired, but I hope still excited. Next: The Chattanooga Hotel, where we will be united. Please thank your driver, then ask for my room and come up alone, awaits your future groom!"

Three hours after the journey began; I was finally alone with my groom! He had reserved the presidential suite. When I arrived, he led me over to the window overlooking the city, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife! We spent the rest of the evening dancing to the jazz band at the hotel. It was truly a magical night!
