One day in August, I was on my way home from work when my boyfriend texted me numerous times and asked me to call him. When I finally had the chance to give him a call, he told me that his friend's wife had to miss a massage appointment at the Clairemont and was hoping that I could take it. I believed the story because she called me and explained that due to a 24-hour cancellation policy, she would have to pay for the service in full. After hearing that, I said, "Why not? " and headed to the hotel for a free 50-minute massage.
When I entered the spa, I was instantly relaxed. I checked in, got my robe and slippers and headed to the Sanctuary until it was time for my appointment. The massage was so nice that I fell asleep! At the end of the service, the masseuse told me to take a few more minutes to rest. When I heard the door open to my room, I assumed it was her coming to wake me up. I was extremely groggy so when I heard my name, it took a minute to register that it was my boyfriend Josh standing in the massage room.
When I opened my eyes, there he was, more handsome than ever. He was holding a long-stemmed red rose and got down on one knee. He then proposed to me, right there in the massage room. Of course, we both started crying and jumping for joy. When we opened the door, everyone was congratulating us. I couldn't believe it! He had completely surprised me, and the whole spa was in on it! It was so sweet! Later, we had a glass of wine and a romantic dinner at Jordan's, the restaurant in the hotel. It was very special, and a couple who was celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary bought us a bottle of champagne and treated us to dinner after they heard the news. It was such an incredible evening; I couldn't have dreamt of a more romantic and exciting proposal!
