Cat Seto uses her background in painting and writing to serve as inspiration for many of her designs. Using hand illustrations and watercolor touches, Cat creates designs that are distinct and uniquely artistic. In 2004, Cat began developing her own stationery line, quickly attracting the attention of Anthropologie, which was one of the first retailers to pick up her note card sets for its stores. She eventually developed a custom line of social and wedding invitations, which led to her outgrowing her one room studio and opening up a boutique in the Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. Today, Cat and her team continue to interact with and be inspired by the San Francisco community on a daily basis. Her line can also be found at shops and department stores around the country, including Kate's Paperie and Bloomingdales.
IN THE PRESS:
Cat Seto has been featured in Blueprint, Fast Company, Better Homes & Gardens, Bridal Guide and Brides. She was also one of the designers featured in the book, Today's Top Stationery Artists.
PAPER PASTTIMES
"I was always crazy about paper and drawing. My father would bring his old engineering blueprints home so I could draw on the backsides. I drew obsessively! I would go through hundreds of sheets of paper within a week. Eventually I discovered scissors and tape, and would turn the house upside down creating imaginary paper cities and giant paper sculptures."
