Kinohi Designs grew out of a love for design and a vision for how it could change the world. Founder Jennifer Tanabe began her career as an award-winning art director and designer for big name clients in San Francisco and St. Louis, including Minute Maid, Bank of America and Gloria Jean's Coffee. Despite her success, she returned to her hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii in 1997 and started Kinohi Designs in 2001. She quickly became a highly sought-after stationery purveyor, gaining clients across the nation, including both the Hollywood elite and Fortune 500 companies. In addition to designing stationery exclusively for Tiny Prints and Wedding Paper Divas, Jennifer also founded and serves as co-creative director for her advertising and design company, Lewis and Montgomery. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering for several nonprofit groups in Hawaii, including The Contemporary Museum.

IN THE PRESS:

Kinohi Designs has been featured in Brides, Pacific Weddings and Honolulu Magazine's Annual Design Issue.

MODERN MUSES:

Jennifer is often most inspired by things that have nothing to do with stationery at all—everything from the flowers and plants in her yard to the pattern on a skirt worn by a passerby. Even a beautifully decorated cake serves as inspiration for her.

CHERISHED WEDDING MEMORY:

"The most lovely wedding I attended was also the most simple one. It was a small affair and the reception was held under a tent near the beach. It was all about good friends and family, and I remember how warm and joyous everyone's faces looked illuminated by the candlelight. The food was simple and delicious, and the love shared among the bride and groom and all the guests was tangible."
