Smudge Ink owners and designers, Kate Saliba and Deb Bastien, launched their business in 2002. Originally focused on bold, colorful letterpress greeting cards and custom invitations, Smudge Ink's product line has expanded to include recyclable shopping bags, desk accessories and offset greeting cards—all of which reflect the same bold style and vibrant aesthetic for which Smudge Ink has become famous. A working letterpress studio, the Smudge Ink design studio is currently located in a renovated textile factory on the Mystic River in historic Charlestown, Massachusetts. The company's unique products are sold worldwide.

IN THE PRESS:

Smudge Ink has been featured in Real Simple, Oprah Magazine, The Knot Magazine, Redbook and many other fine publications

FAVORITE WEDDING MEMORIES:

Deb says one of her favorite moments was when both families gathered together the day before the ceremony to do a ropes course. "It was a fun, relaxing bonding experience. Plus, all the planning was over and it was a gorgeous day!" she says. Kate says she'll never forget dead heading the flowers in her parents' garden the day of the celebration to make sure everything was perfect. "I loved walking out the front door to see all my mom's closest friends, clippers in hand, helping us prepare for the big event."

ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES:

"Don't let yourself by overwhelmed by all the nitty gritty details, because in the end, it just doesn't matter that much. We know this is easier said than done!"
