Arti Anand of ZOYA Couture has been inspired by art and design for as long as she can remember. At a young age she was certain she wanted to become an artist, and spent countless hours sketching her favorite animated characters and preparing her portfolio. An important early career accomplishment—Arti’s work was chosen for her elementary school’s cookbook cover! Although she didn’t ultimately go into the animation career she dreamed of as a girl, Arti continued to refine her skills in web and print design. She completed both her bachelor degree and MBA at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in College Park. In 2008, she founded ZOYA Couture as a labor of love and has enjoyed growing the company into an award-winning luxury stationery studio.
Zoya Couture has appeared in Luxurious Wedding, South Asian Bride Magazine, Maharani Weddings, Martha Stewart Weddings, The Washington Post and on "News Channel 8."
ON STATIONERY:
"In today's technology driven world, there is something absolutely magical and heartwarming about receiving a physical card in the mail—cards are a symbol of love, care and thoughtfulness." Some of her favorite cards have been the handmade ones her younger sister gave her when they were children.
EVERYDAY INSPIRATION
Arti draws inspiration from interesting architecture, which introduces an element of symmetry in much of her work. She loves traveling and is inspired by structural details of sites all over the world. Be on the lookout out for new ideas upon Arti's return from upcoming trips to Indonesia and Thailand.
FUN AND GAMES:
"My husband and I absolutely love to entertain and play games! One of our favorite ways to have fun is to play classic card and board games with friends."
