There are four customary good luck tokens for a bride as she embarks on her wedding day taken from an old English poem. Something old, something new. Something borrowed, something blue.
Something old signifies family, heritage and tradition. Something new represents the bride entering into her new marriage. Something borrowed is meant to be an item on lend from someone in an exemplary marriage. Lastly, something blue is based on the color of wedding gowns before the 19th century when brides began wearing white.
Traditional ideas of something blue include a blue garter or lingerie, a blue handkerchief, blue shoes or a monogram in blue thread sewn into the bride's wedding dress. Today there are even more unique ways to have something blue at your wedding. Brides are wearing blue toenail polish, blue jewelry and blue hair accessories.
There are wonderful ways to incorporate blue into a wedding, such as blue wedding invitations, a blue sash on the wedding gown, blue flowers and blue bride’s maids’ dresses. Not only is something blue an ode to the traditional wedding custom, but blue is stylish and classic. The color of the sky and the ocean, blue is the most soothing of all colors.
Whether you are planning to send out blue wedding invitations or using blue flowers on your wedding cake, infusing some blue into your wedding will surely inspire a long and happy marriage.

"We were SO happy with how these turned out! We spent the extra few bucks on upgrading the paper to the pearl shimmer - it was totally worth it! The picture on the back that we added was perfect! Beautiful! We received so many compliments:)"

"We were able to personalive this card by adding extra information and then having it re-centered. This is was done quickly and without problems! The quality of the paper is very elegant. My guests loved them! Also, if you order the rsvp cards, they will fit in the invitation's envelope."
April 5, 2015Perfect for beach wedding
"Loved the design and quality of the paper on the invitation. My only negative was the envelope...it puckered on the back where the glue sealed."
April 5, 2015Perfect and beautiful
"We ordered these in the blue/green color scheme, and I LOVE them. We requested some minor customizations (like changing the circles on the response cards to underscores) and WPD was accomodating. The proofs arrived with a typo, so I had to decline them. But the error was fixed within 5 minutes, tops! The new proof was sent, we approved it, and the invitations arrived 3 days later - 1 week earlier than expected! I'm very pleased with the quality of the paper and the printing, and I have received so many compliments from our wedding guests. I've even recommended WPD to a friend, because she loved our invitations so much. And I'm planning on ordering matching menu cards and place cards too."
April 3, 2015Gorgeous invites!
"At first glance I thought these invites were just okay. I got them as a free sample and we both thought they matched our wedding perfectly. We ordered 145 invitations, and they were packaged very well. Nothing was damaged when they came in. We opted for the standard paper, but regret not doing the double thick paper. It feels fine and sturdy, but on the edges they bend and you can see the white card stock. I did not change any of the sizes for fonts and I thought they were very easy to read. The glitter is not actual glitter, but a print of what glitter looks like. We were fine with this and threw in some glitter confetti in the envelope."
