Have you ever attended a wedding that had an absolutely beautiful color palette? Artfully incorporating complementary colors into your wedding décor can be a challenge, but when it is done well the result is electrifying. On the other hand, choosing the wrong color combinations can not only be an eyesore, but can set the wrong mood for our celebration. Here are a few common wedding color selection mistakes to avoid.
Your main concern when choosing your wedding colors should be to determine what color combinations you absolutely adore. Who cares what’s in style? It’s your day, so go with colors that speak to you and make you feel beautiful. Whether you like bright colors or pastels, as long as you choose colors that inspire you and look good together, that’s all that matters. Even if you prefer to play it safe and choose neutral colors, that’s ok! Don’t let anyone give you a hard time, because you are the bride and this is your big moment. Plus, neutral wedding invitations and décor can look strikingly sophisticated and romantic.
Oops! You chose to make hot pink your primary wedding color without realizing that your wedding venue has a red accent wall! This is every bride’s nightmare, but it is a problem that can be avoided very easily. Simply make sure you see your wedding venue in person before finalizing your wedding colors and you shouldn’t run into any unpleasant color combination surprises.
You don’t want your wedding colors to startle or overwhelm the eyes of your guests, so try to limit yourself to two complementing color choices (or three at a maximum). Choosing too many colors or decorating with neon hues can make your wedding appear sloppy and disorganized (unless, of course, you are going for a wild “flower child” look). Don’t forget to make sure your place cards, menus, napkins and other stationery fit in perfectly with your chosen color theme.
"I was a little nervous that the picture quality would be poor since it is a decent sized pic, and you can't really tell how it will look from the previews. However, the picture and the invites came out perfectly! Our designer was extremely fast and got back to us within 12 hours every time until we were 100% happy with the preview. We added "Together with their families" above our names on the right page and it was perfect! Very happy!"
"Beautiful design printed on a quality textured paper stock. I fell in love with this card in lilac. So classy, so beautiful. It felt right...for all you brides, you know what I mean!"
"We are so happy with how our wedding invitations turned out! I can't believe how much we love them. The colors are vibrant and elegant and are perfect for our Dallas rooftop wedding. I give this product 5 stars for sure and nothing less."
"We loved these invitations. The card was nice thick quality but didn't go over the weight to use a normal stamp (Canadian stamp). The picture was excellent quality. The editor did a great job to unify the font (although did make a grammatical error but we caught it on review)."
"Could not be happier with this product or the service I received during the ordering and review process. We added multiple customized features, which were all implemented beautifully. The picture we chose printed clear and consistently."
