A traditional white or black invitation with formal calligraphy will provide a hint about the type of event to expect. Floral purple and orange wedding invitations or ones with a bold, modern font tend to hint at a more casual event.
However, regardless of the style and color of your wedding invitation you might want to consider putting the dress code on your invitations so your guests are not left to wonder what to wear to the wedding. You would not want guests to feel out of place by showing up in formal attire for a casual event. If you do not want to include a dress code on your invitations, consider putting it on the website or Facebook page for your wedding.
A simple and common way to include a dress code is in the lower right hand corner of your invitation. A formal event might say "black tie" or "formal attire" while a more casual event might say "cocktail attire" or "casual attire."
It is important to keep in mind that more traditional or formal white wedding invitations do not necessarily signify a formal event while purple and orange wedding invitations do not necessarily signify cocktail attire. Your guests will appreciate knowing precisely what type of attire is appropriate for the event.
Customer reviews of our Purple and Orange Wedding Invitations
July 14, 2015Love them!
"I was a little nervous that the picture quality would be poor since it is a decent sized pic, and you can't really tell how it will look from the previews. However, the picture and the invites came out perfectly! Our designer was extremely fast and got back to us within 12 hours every time until we were 100% happy with the preview. We added "Together with their families" above our names on the right page and it was perfect! Very happy!"
July 3, 2015Whimsical card
"The designer of the card was great. They reworked the spacing because my information was a lot more than the sample. They were really able to make the card feel like it was made for my wedding"
July 2, 2015Great Card!
"I was so afraid to order my shipment without seeing the exact card proof but I love them! I had ordered the LINEN background because others had recommended it, and instead of the textured I ordered the PEARL WHITE SHIMMER for a more modern look. I couldn't be happier with them. It looks like, from other reviewers, you really have to change the background to linen if you want the shimmer. I hadn't liked the roughness of the original sample. The red is a bit on the pink side but not too much. The designers were able to put the little Ganesh in the top circle for me which I was very impressed with! I definitely recommend!"
June 23, 2015Elegant and Simple
"I am having and as Asian-American wedding and was looking for an invitation that wouldn't put us over out budget but still had a nice Asian flair. I loved the design and to top it off the little elephant on the front and back made everything come together perfectly. My family is from Laos the land of a million elephants. I was able to keep the information simple yet it still made the invitation beautiful. The customer service was wonderful. I received my proofs within a timely manner and when I did come in contact with any staff they were always friendly, and knowledgeable."
June 22, 2015Wonderful invitation
"We loved these invitations. The card was nice thick quality but didn't go over the weight to use a normal stamp (Canadian stamp). The picture was excellent quality. The editor did a great job to unify the font (although did make a grammatical error but we caught it on review)."
