Winter can be a magical time of year so it only makes sense to celebrate your fairy tale wedding during this stretch. Here are a few tips for throwing a winter wonderland event.
Create a winter scene with pearlized white ribbon along with cool tones. Use pine cones and frosted berries as part of your centerpieces as well as evergreen branches intertwined to create table wreaths to set around candles or the cake.
Set the tone of the event by sending out invitations that fit with the theme. Seasonal wedding invitations make it easy to let your guests know what to expect. Keep it simple with an enchanted script atop a background of crystalized flakes. If you plan to exchange your vows outdoors with the hope of doing it amidst falling snow, be sure to note this on the invitation, which allows guests to dress accordingly.
Stick with seasonal dishes and consider going for hearty fare. Include a soup or chowder on the menu along with roasted veggies such as winter squash or honey glazed carrots.
Keep your guests warm and toasty by offering mulled spiced wine in lieu of champagne for the toast. Set up a hot cocoa bar, complete with chocolate shavings, whipped cream, nutty toppings and cinnamon or peppermint sticks.
Dress the bridesmaids in rich colors that stand out against the backdrop of white but will keep in line with the season. Deep burgundies, regal purples and rich blues can result in a striking scene and gorgeous photos. If part of or the entire event is being held outdoors, consider adding in a faux stole to ensure your wedding party remains warm. Bring the entire group together by incorporating these same colors into the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres.
Once you have decided upon the theme, keep it threaded throughout the entire celebration for consistency. With a little attention to detail you can have the perfect winter wonderland wedding for you and your betrothed.
"Absolutely beautiful. It was really easy to customize the wedding invite. My designer did a great job of brining my ideas to life. I really wanted to be able to include our parents in the invite and the designer came up with a great solution and moved a few things around. The invite is exactly what we wanted. Thank you so much!"
"Our invitations arrived recently (sooner than expected) and look absolutely beautiful! The design requests we submitted were perfect and really helped to make our invitations unique."
"The paper (standard that they use) was a great quality, as always with their products. The colors were soft and delicate like I wanted. We aren't having a formal event, so these work great for the laid back feel we wanted."
"This design looks exactly the same in person as on the website. I loved the simple design. We are having our wedding on New Year's Eve so it fit in with the season perfectly."
"This invite turned out perfect for my fall wedding. It has elegance and a fun fall flair. The quality of the paper is nice, textured. We did the "ticket" cut to add a little more depth to it but loved it!"
