With all the other festivities, the dress, the ring and the wedding itself, it may be difficult to justify spending a large sum of money on the rehearsal dinner. Traditionally, the groom’s parents picked up the tab because the bride’s parents paid for the wedding, but times have shifted. These days, anyone can pay and anyone can host, as long as the bride and groom are happy.
In order to keep the rehearsal dinner low-key and under budget, we have a few simple tips that will ensure that the night is enjoyable, but doesn’t break your wallet.
If the season is right, choose an outdoor venue that doesn’t cost a thing. Ask family member and friends if they are willing to host your rehearsal dinner. Send tropical rehearsal dinner invitations for a dinner on the lake or the beach if there is one close. There really is no limit to how creative you can be with the venue.
As you are relaxing and partying with your friends, it’s easy to go a little crazy on the alcohol, but whoever is picking up the tab might be sweating it out. Skip the open bar and limit what drinks you provide so you can plan ahead how much will be spent.
Many couples love having live music at their rehearsal dinner although there is no dancing required. If the venue has a sound system, simply run your own playlist through the speakers. Create a special playlist of songs that are meaningful to the couple to play throughout the night.
Your rehearsal dinner should include members of your wedding party and close family members. If you don’t want to invite too many people, only send party invites to a small group. Don’t put anything on your wedding schedule if you don’t want the whole group to attend.
The focus should be on the happy couple and their vows, and not on the stress of paying for the rehearsal dinner. Keep it inexpensive and casual to keep the couple happy.
"These ended up being beautiful rehearsal dinner invitations for our Nautical Beach themed wedding 1/4/15 St Pete Bch wedding! We chose the raised/textured paper and they turned out great. No complaints at all. Between our beautiful save the dates, wedding invitations and rehearsal dinner invitations...I will be a spokesperson for WPD for sure! Thank you for quality work and customer service. -Sarah & Shaun Hess"
"The card had two colors of ink on an orange/coral card stock that was slightly pearlized. Used the template of the card that I was purchasing. The outer edges were well cut."
