Have you just received personalized, ruby-colored 40th wedding anniversary invitations in the mail? If so, you may be trying to figure out exactly what to get the happy couple. The traditional gift for this wedding anniversary is ruby jewelry or something red, but those guidelines do not necessarily affect the friends and family of the couple. Here are a few gift ideas you may want to consider:
Customized Items: If the happy couple are winos, consider getting them a set of wine glasses or a bottle opener that you customize with their wedding date. Otherwise, consider getting placemats, whiskey glasses or a door mat you can personalize for the duo. Think of the couple’s interests and try and find something to match.
Old Memories: Depending on your relationship with the couple, you may have memories you can share. Consider putting together an album or photobook that includes a picture of them from every year they have been married.
New Memories: Rather than getting something that will simply sit on their mantle, consider giving a gift they will be able to use to create new memories. You could give them a couple’s massage or a gift card to a nice restaurant.
Throwback Gifts: For some couples, it might be fun to give them a gift more appropriate for the year they were married. This could include an old record or a miniature car from the year they were wed.
Something Red: Fall back on the traditional and give the couple something red. Whether it is flowers, a picture frame, jewelry or a pillow, a ruby-themed gift is appropriate for this wedding anniversary.
When you get 40th wedding anniversary invitations, it means it is time to go shopping. Most couples who have been married that long are not looking for an extravagant gift, but the invitation may help you better understand what is expected. Use these gift ideas to get the long-married couple in your life something special.
"perfect choice for complimenting the style of any wedding-as mother of groom planning rehearsal dinner this provided simple elegance that is very classic. We used both front and back of the invite-front for basic invite information and back for extra details. Paper and printing were top quality as we expected from this company. Front photo of the couple looked amazing! Shipping was right on time as promised. You can't go wrong with this design and style."
June 20, 2015Lovely Bridal Shower Invitation
"The invitation turned out prettier than I imagined. The text and colors were amazing. The gold shimmer envelopes were the perfect touch - high quality/rich looking."
June 15, 2015Above and Beyond
"I got these to go with my "earthy leaves" invitation suite. There were only 4 color options listed, so I figured they only came in those colors, so I had just picked black. But when my digital proof came back, they had given me two other options that went with my 'rich red' color scheme. I was not expecting to be offered other color options, and loved the liberty and assumption the designer took in offering me different colors that went with my invites instead of black. Needless to say, I was impressed and very happy with this product and the service and the attention to detail that the designer took."
